Happy New Year!!!

Well, I just dropped of the kids for their weekend retreat. I am hoping they have a great time up in the mountains of New Hampshire. I was hoping hubby and I would plan our own little getaway but here it is 3 pm on NYE and we still have no idea what we are going to do tonight.

I quiet night in front of the fireplace sounds pretty nice, too, though.

I am challenging myself to get more scrapping done in 2011 and want to post it here so I can't back out of my own challenge.

I challenge myself to get at least 365 pages scrapped in 2011. I plan to spend less time shopping for the newest and latest products and more time using what I already have.

I plan to pay myself back for every item I use from my own strash! 5 cents for everything I take from my own supplies. So hopefully I will have a nice little sluch fund by the end of the year, as well.

Another BIG Challenge. I am going to start hosting scrapping events again this year. I have not done one in 10 years but I miss how much fun these events were and have gotten requests from fellow scrappers that attended my events. So I plan to start small and jsut rent local hall space to get things going on a monthly basis and then I will work up to bigger weekend events with prizes and games.

Another challenge is to get over all the health issues I have been dealing with for the past 8 months and get to feeling better and getting back into better physical shape. I swear I have gains over 30 lbs since I started getting sick this past April. Lack of excercise have been a major factor so time to get my butt back to the gym Sick or Not!!

I say this even though I just came from another Doctor's appointment yesterday where the Doctor has scheduled me for 2 biopsy surgeries in the next 5 days. But I still need to stay upbeat!!!

I have to give a shout out to a great scrapbook business.
I am loving their page kits. I just ordered some more this morning. These kits are already precut. You just assemble and add your own photos. What a great way to get pages done when you don't have much time.

No photos to add today. I have not downloaded any lately. I will add my Christmas photos once I load them to my computer.

Again Happy New Year to everyone!!

new pages

It's been 5 weeks since I last posted anything. I've been sick more than not this past month. Sinus infection, cold, sinus infection, again!

A few updates...

We were Flocked last week.

It's a great fund raising idea. To raise money for the High School Senior's Senior Night Out Party families can pay $20 to have other families flocked. To get them removed we had to pay $20. Of course the day we were flocked we had 50 mile an hour winds. My darling Husband was afraid our Pink Flamingos might take flight and go through our bay window so he pulled them all out, the spoil-sport. LOL

Tim celebrated his 16th birthday. He wanted a tatoo. I convinced him it was not a good idea. I blackmailed him is more like it. I told him if he got a tatoo, I would do everything in my power to keep him from getting his driver's permit and license. He changed his mind about the tattoo idea. Instead he brought back up an issue when he was 13. He wanted to get his ears pierced. I told him at the time, " not at 13, if you still want them when you are 16, I will take you to get them done." So, he got his ears pierced. I am hoping it is just a phase and he will take them out.

I did scrap a layout about it, though.

Kelly made the High School Basketball team. That was a great accomplishment. Over 40 girls tried out for 15 spots. This means she is on 2 Basketball leagues so our evening and weekends will be spent courtside but she loves it!!

I can't take credit for this layout. It was a kit from
It is a great company that puts out 2 - 3 new page kits a day!!! The price is great, too. they kits run $6 - $8 each. I paid up to $14 for kits from other companies so you should check them out.

Well, that is it for now. Time to start dinner.

Trying to find my groove

Haven't posted in a while. Started a new job back in September and it has really been burning me out. I am only working 25 hours a week, but I have been coming home exhausted every single day.
I went from working in the office of a Middle School which I absolutely loved doing!!! To this year being a Teacher's Aide in a special needs classroom. I can see myself learning to love this job, as well. I am just having a hard time adjusting to the major change in duties. There is a Teacher, 4 full time aides and 1 part time aide. We have 9 students all ranging from 3 to 5 years old and all have developmental or medical issues. So we are physically active every minute of the 25 hours we are there. All but one are still in diapers and need to get changed 3 times a day. Most need help eating snacks and lunching. All need help with their class work (coloring, cutting, glueing ect) We could have 9 adults and I think it would still be an exhaustung job. LOL

This week I finally let out my fustrations to the Assistant Principal. I love the people I work with as well as all the kids, I just have no clue what I am doing!!! I have never worked in a classroom before. She is planning some training for us but asked me to find what I do best and offer it up to the teacher. Duh? Why didn't I think of that. I love crafts!!! I can take over that part of our day. I can plan our daily craft project and run with it. Yes, maybe I did find my groove. I will see how it goes!

I already have something planned for next week. I Thanksgiving project. I will post a photo of what we make later.

Days 5 and 6 of September LOAD challenge

These are my two pages for day 5 and 6. This was from a kit. I wish the pictures were more updated. My grandaughter's hair has grown 5 inches since these photos were taken back in May.

Below are more pages I did for the LOAD challenge I am in.

This first one is the one I did today. The daily challenge was a school layout. My kids don't start school until next Wednesday and Thursday but Football season did officially start this morning. This was the first Varsity game of the year. My son is backup player for the Varsity team so he didn't get in much but these were two plays where he made some great tackles. I added the Lyrics from Kenny Chesney's The Boys of Fall. I love this song. Tim doesn't since it is country music. Oh, well.

This 2 page layout was from yesterday. The challenge for yesterday was to put together a layout in 30 minutes or less, but it did not work out that way. I pulled out a page kit I had thinking this would be real quick to put together. I loved the kit but everything in it had to be traced and cut out twice. It ended up taking over 4 hours total but I do like the finished page. Anyone that knows my daughter know she is very much the Tomboy and not a Girly girl. I went through a few years of photos trying to find the few I have of her showing her more feminine side. Luckily as she gets older I am seeing this side of her a little more frequently.

Today turned out to be a beautiful day. We spent the day yesterday putting all the lawn furniture away and packing up anything we thought the heavy winds from Hurricane Earl would ruin. Then my husband stayed up all night waiting for the worst of the wind to hit us. It never did. We got a little rain but no wind. How do Weathermen keep their jobs when they seem to be wrong more times then they get the weather correct?

Now I want to pull all the lawn furniture back out but am thinking hubby will say to leave it since summer ends this weekend. Fall if my favorite time of year. This is when I do enjoy sitting out so I will have to sneak a few chairs back out of storage so I can enjoy them.

LOAD Challenge

Here are my first 2 pages for the Layout A Day Challenge. The "Breathtaking Scenery" page was from today. I had no time at all to work on anything so I just started this page at 10:00 PM tonight (it's 10:12 now) so that shows how little effort I put into it. The title was planned for another page but I never used it. It is just a vellum pre-printed title sheet with some paint added to the back side to make the title stand out more then I tore around the edges. Then I trimmed around some of the palm branches to border the corners of the large photo.

The second layout "Hard Rock Cafe" I did yesterday. I had a little more time and effort to put into this one. I enlarged one of the photos, typed up some journaling, added some paint around my journaling tag, then added some paper ribbon for a pull, added stickers and cut the Title out with my Cricut.

Tomorrow we will be batting down the hatches, sort of speak, as we prepare for Hurricane Earl. So it may be another 5 minute layout again tomorrow.

Lazy Days of Summer are coming to an end

Well there is only one day left to August and I am just not ready for summer to end. This September seems unbelievably busy...Tim has double sessions of football practice everyday now. Once school starts he will have practice everyday after school and two football games a week. Mondays he is Quarterback for the JV team and Friday nights he is backup QB for the Varsity team. Kelly is starting high school this year. I am starting a new job in 2 weeks working as a Teachers aide for a special needs classroom of 3 year olds. My classes are starting up at my local Michaels craft store. I'll be teaching SDU (Scrapbook Design & You) every Tuesday night. Then if September wasn't busy enough already, I just signed up for a LOAD challenge. Scrapbook A Lay Out A Day.
I am looking forward to the Scrapbook challenge anyway. Not so sure about the rest of my schedule for September. I will try to post my layouts here once I get them done. I plan to start this challenge with the final pages of my Hawaii trip. I got a lot of pages done then put it aside for the past 2 weeks.

Adult Time

We got back from a short little get-away without kids. I can't express how wonderful it is to take a little time for just hubby and me to be together. We had to listen to a Timeshare sales pitch for 3 hours but besides that it was really nice. A while back while at Six Flags my darling DH got caught up in a sales pitch..."spin the wheel to win an awesome vacation for 2". He spun...The guys tells him he won, sweetheart that he is doesn't think that EVERYONE that spins the wheel wins. Anyway, he tells the man he can't fill out any paperwork with out me so they wait for me to catct up to where they are. " Honey, I won!" so the details are like this, pay us $20 to drive out to check out our resort. Spend the use using all the facilities, pool, health club, games, etc Just for taking the time to visit us you win a 3 night cruise to the Bahamas including airfair for two people, as a bonus you also won a weekend stay in Cape Cod.

So we sent the kids off for the day and night and we make the 3 hour drive to the resort, listen to the 90 minutes that really took 3 hours, said "no thank you to three different sales people and finally got our travel certificates. Now we have to wait and see if we really get the free trips or not.

But the rest of the time was wonderful. We went out for a nice early dinner, cocktails back at out hotel and a whole night together without our dog barking at us or kids asking for moeny of transportation somewhere.

Of coarse it ended too quickly and we are back to reality today but it was nice while it lasted.

Do you know how to use Copic Markers?

I have been playing with my markers today. Each time, I think I finally have the technique down then I learn something new. My WOW moment today was this.
When I color an image in I take my lightesst shade and color in little swirly circles. Then I would use the next shade and color right up to the edge of the lighter color. Next I would try to blend these two colors together with the blender pen. WRONG! I found out today that you start with the lighter color, but you color the whole area with the lighter color. Then you go over whatever part you want darker with the next shade. Then go back over the whole thing again with the lighter color. This is how the colors blend together!!!

So now I want more markers. I did find a chart to keep track of my colors. If you go onto the Copic website and search for Libary you can download a color chart then mark the colors you have. I thought I had a good start up set but after filling in this chart my collection looks pretty pathetic. LOL

My other classes

Xyron also has contacted me about teaching classes for their new Creatopia machine. My new toy arrived today and I have been playing with it a little. I plan to try it out alot more tomorrow.

What I do know so far is: This machine does the work of 5 other machines. The awesome thing about this one is, it can work on materials up to 12 1/2 inches wide!! It adds permanent or repostionable adhesive, it laminates, it has a fabric adhesive, It can add adhesive to thicker objects than the other Xyron machines can (foam, cardstock, Chipboard, cork, even thin wood) It also embosses, cuts with multiple blades, and it can replace your manual die cut machine using the dies you already own. I will get more familiar with it when I have a little more time to play with it. But I am loving it so far!

SDU Instructor

EK Success asked me to be an Instructor for them and teach SDU classes at the Micheals in Braintree. Anyone looking to learn basic Scrapbook Design skills should look into these classes. I took the class myself about 5 years ago and it was great then. Since then EK Success has updated the whole system and it is going to be Great class. Micheal's is just waiting for class supplies to arrive and we will set up the class schedule. I am guessing late August or early September these should start. The class is 4 weeks long with each class lasted 2 hours.

Little Brown Truck

I have been going a little crazy with ebay lately. I have been finding real bargains but even great deals start adding up so I am cutting my E-Bay strings and starting to scrap from my stash instead of looking for what else is out there. To say thank you to my USP guy (my daughter called him her second Dad, he is here so often) I decided to make him a thank you card for his years of loyal above and beyond great customer service.

It is hard to tell by the photo but the card is 3-dimensional. I stamped his brown suit on cardstock cut it out and popped it up along with the boxes stacked on the 2-wheeler. They are popped up with foam dots. He loved his card. The stamp set is from Clear and Simple. They have some great sets!!

Recovery still...

It has been over 2 months now and I am still recovering from my surgery. Still dealing with congestion. Yuke!!!

I have been playing with my scrapping supplies though. The following photos are some of the projects I have been working on. Mostly Stampin' Up! supplies on everything in these photos. I would like to take credit for the ideas but once again I just did a search online for the supplies I had and CASEd them.

These first two cards were made with older retired Designer Series paper. The stamp sets used were; Fast and Fabulous, Flower Fancy and Afterthoughts from the new catalog

This goody bag was made covering the nugget size chocolate bars with paper from a pad I purchased at Micheals, as soon as I remember the name if it I will add it. The "Yummy" stamp set is a retired stamp from SU.

These are photos of a post it note holder. I used the Tangerine Tango cardstock and the owl is the new Owl punch, both from Stampin Up! I know this needs something more. I need to stamp something next to the owl, I just don't know what, yet.

This is another post it note holder but I got these monogram post-its at Micheals. $1.00 for two note pads. Again Tangerine Tango the stamp set for the monogram is Lovely Letters by SU. I added a little glue and some SU dazzling diamonds

These are small little 3 x 3 cards again using the Tangerine Tango and Sweet and Sour DSP. The stamp set for this was Forest Friends.

This photo is a card I made using SU's new owl punch. I just love this punch and plan to be using it a lot!!! The background paper is Sweet and Sour dsp and the cardstock is Tangerine Tango. I liked this paper better than even I knew because I somehow managed to order it three times. So I have plenty of it and plan to use it in quite a few of my projects.

Recover is going GREAT!

It's been almost 3 weeks since my surgery and I am finally starting to feel like my old self again. I know I am feeling better when I finally want to get crafty again. These are some projects I have been fiddling with. As far as the cards I can't take designer credits I did a google search for stamp sets I have and found these ideas by other very creative ladies.
This is a simple note card idea. I used Stampin Up's Certainly Celery cardstock, DSP and ink pad. I liked the way this came out so well, that I made batches and batches of these as Teacher gifts, Crossing Guard gifts, Co-worker Gifts and Thank you gifts. I just changed up the colors a little.

This card I made in a panic. I was on such heavy pain medicine I would lose track of days and I thought I missed Father's Day. (silly me) So I made this card for my husband. Again, can't take credit, I did a search for card ideas and someone else designed this. I just copied but it was much easier then I expected and like how it stands up. My DH will get it this weekend since I didn't really miss Father's Day.

This time I didn't do a search for a stamp set, I searched for a Stampin Up Color. I love this Bermuda Bay and was disappointed that it is not a carry through color with Stampin Up so I wanted to make some cards using it. This was made using Bermuda Bay cardstock, ink pad, marker, ribbon and the stamp set Happy Moments, A Sale-A-Bration stamp set.

Stampin Up! is offering a special Promo this month. Sign up for only $99 so I did. I have been using their products for years now I can teach other how to use them. I even signed up for a website. It should be, but I cannot get it to sign on. So I will have to figure that out.

I also did 2 pages for my son's Wedding Album. This page is my first glimpse of my daughter-in-law's dress. It was absolutely beautiful. I never got a really good photo to do the dress justice. The detailing in it was so intricate and delicate. Lovely!!

Then I realized I never got a good photo of my granddaughter in her full "Flower Girl" outfit, meaning when her hair was up and there was a little headband of flowers going all around.

I was not feeling well and looking back at the photos I missed a lot a good shots but was thrilled I was able to travel and be there for the big day before I went in for my surgery.

I will post more when I get some more projects done with my newly arrive Stampin Up Starter kit.

Getting a little Nervous!

My surgery is scheduled for this Thursday. I have to admit I am getting a litte jumpy about it. I have never been afaid of surgery. I have gone through it too many times but this one scares me. I know how painful the recovery time is. I don't like being so totally helpless and useless for such a long time. My surgeon keeps trying to tell me every operation is different and I may recover much quickly this time. I don't believe him. :o) If this was not as painful as it is I would not have waited 3 years to go see him again.

Alright! Enough complaining.

I did get something good accomplished today. I planted my garden. I love my garden. Thank you so my my darling DH for building it for me. This is my 3rd year and even though I am still learning as I go I do feel more confident this year about what I am growing. I have planted a lot of repeat veggies: tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, watermelon, radishes, lettuce, carrots, zuchinni, eggplant, green beans and herbs (basil, cilantro, oregano, and dill) I am trying a few new things this year, Asparagus, though it says it takes 3 years before I will be picking this. Also, potatoes and onions. I am going to try corn again this year. I tried this last year but planted it in an area that was too low for the plants so I need to find a place that has more height to it this year.

I just hope my garden does not get too neglected over the next couple of weeks.

Everyone at work is talking about the lay-offs. It is pretty definate that my job is gone. All Attendance aides are being cut. People are already giving me hugs and wishing me the best of luck. I thought I had enough seniority to at least keep a job somewhere in the system but now that does not even look too secure. The talk now is 70% of the paras are being cut. I would have to be in the top 1/3 percent which I am not. I am about 1/2 down the seniority list. I will not not what is happening for sure until next September when they city starts calling paras to fill positions. Until then I will just have to wait it out.

Boy, this update isn't very positive. Time to give up for the day. Next time I write I will try to be more upbeat.

The wedding is over

What a beautiful day it turned out to be. the wedding of my stepson, Matthew and Sara was yesterday. The weather was warm and sunny and the reception was lots of fun.

I will post photos once we get back to Massachusetts. Today we are spending our last day with Ashley and Madi.

Rumors are Flying

For those that do not know this, I work at a Public Middle School. I am a Paraprofessional (an Office Aide). The city I work in needs to cut 12 million dollars from the Education budget. The last union meeting I went to for Paras told us that our jobs should be pretty safe because they did so many cuts last summer and we are done to bare bone now. It would be difficult to funtion if they cut anymore.

Well, the rumor now is that all Office Aides are being let go come the end of school this year (June 30th), along with one Guidance Counciler for each school, some clerk positions, one teacher from each grade level, One subject from each grade, All Foriegn Language programs, one Specialist Program, 1/2 of all Assistant Principals, and who knows what else.

Seniority wise I think I might be OK to keeping a job in thie city but I don't think it would still be in the school I work in now. This would not make me very happy. I LOVE my school. I can't imagine having to start over somewhere else.

I will have to wait and see what pans out. Wish me luck!

Finally broke down and went to see the Doctor

I have been struggling with my sinuses all winter. This winter hasn't been my worst for allergies but I have not been comfortable this winter. I have been avoiding making an appointment with my ENT Dr because I KNEW what he was going to tell me. Well, these past three days I have been absolutely miserable. Can't sleep, barely breathing, coughing so bad I feel like I am going to pass out, and the pressure in my sinus cavities is unbearable!

I just wanted something to make me feel better to get through flying next week and my stepson's wedding in Florida.

My Doctor said my sinus cavities are so blocked the only relief I will get is surgery to scrape the cavities AGAIN! This has to be the most painful thing there is - MORE painful than childbirth - to recover from Sinus Surgery. I have gone through it twice already. Both times telling myself never again!!!

But I have to face facts. I knew I was getting that bad. This is why I have been avoiding going to see him. Yes, once the recovery period goes by I do feel better, I can breath through my nose, I can smell things again, food even tastes better. And both me and my husband can get a more restful sleep.

But three weeks of absolute agony is the scary part. I can't believe they send you home after this type of surgery. I can barely lift my head for the first week, the second week I feel like my throat is line with razor blades and can't handle anything more than liquid food, the third week feeling like myself until I try to do ANYTHING and just want to collapse.

Then on top of all this, there is the possibility of getting laidoff this summer. So I need to schedule this surgery while I still have insurance. Not that my Dr is giving me that option. He would prefer I have this surgery right away due to how bad my sinuses are.

So it is scheduled for May 27th. I should be more stressed but right now I can't even laugh without a major coughing fit so I am looking for any relief I can get. I am on all kinds of meds for between now and the surgery to help relieve some of the pressure. Steriods, Antibiotics, antacids to cover the side effects of the steriods, along with the three other meds I need to take.

My husband asked if my warranty is still good. Funny guy!

The big wedding is coming up

Expenses have been extremely tight but I finally feel a little breathing room. We have our airfare booked (thank goodness for airline points) and we have a place to stay. It was be a bit of a drive but 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, washer and drying in unit for only $59 a night. SCORE!! Now we need a car rental. This will be today's project.

People can be so hurtful

I usually get along with everyone. It is rare that I have issues with anyone at all. I was so surprised to book a weekend scrapping with fellow scrappers only to have them be mean to me the next day. How does a person feel they are more deserving of table space than other people at the same table that paid the exact same price to be there as they did? What makes this even stranger is that these very three people had a conversation the day before about how at the last crop they attended, they witnessed the very same thing happen to someone else and they felt so bad for the hurt person at the last event. Yet it did not stop them from hurting someone's feelings this time. I did not enjoy sitting in my hotel room alone for 2 hours crying because of these 3 ladies. Shame on you!

Vacation Week

Vacation week has turned into Baseball Week. We have been at either a Baseball or Softball field every day this week. At least the weather has been great!. I have been getting creative.

This layout is from the Basic Grey Page of the Month Kit. I did the layout in March but just added photos this week.

Then with the extra paper from the kit I did this Zoo layout.

With this layout I actually used an idea from the book "Embellishment Handbook". I sewed my buttons right onto the page rather then glueing then, which is what I would usually do.

Then I started making cards. I cannot take any credit for the designs. I TOTALLY scraplifted these from other people on the internet. This first one was designed by Kathy but it was such an easy card to do. It only took me a few minutes to make two of them.

The other card took more time with all the steps to it but I loved the finished look. I found this idea by doing a Google search for cards made the the Stampin Up stamp set "Garden From the Heart". I will have to look it up again to give credit to the designer but another beautiful card. I made a bunch of this one.

I have been playing with organization more then actually doing anything else. I hope tomorrow I might get some more cards made. Only a few more days and vacation is over. It always goes by so quickly.

Easter card

I could not get the photo to come out very well, but I taught this card to my afterschool club today. We made 45 cards in 55 minutes and distributed them to all the teachers at school.

recent cards

I made this card yesterday morning. My darling hubby was heading to visit a customer and found out they were still in the hospital from surgery so I quickly made this card before he left. I don't know about anyone but I always feel like I make my best cards when I am under pressure to put something together quickly.

I should be depressed but how can I be...

My darling husband called me at work this morning asking if I had any cash on me. This just says how far we have fallen in the past year. For those that do not know, my husband crushed some vertebra in his back along with 4 broken ribs in an accidnet. He had to have emergency spinal surgery 14 months ago. Metal rods and screwed were inserted to hold his spine together. Prior to his injury we were holding our own, but ever since we have really struggled money wise. I should be down but I am not.

I am blessed.

Due to the wonderful surgeon we had, my husband was up and walking the day after his surgery. 1 month after surgery he was able to start washing and dressing himself, again. 3 months after he was back to work part time, 7 months later he was able to work a full day. The downside of our situation is the fact that he runs his own contruction business. Since the injury the economy has really gone bust and we just have not had much work. We have not had any income at all in the past 2 1/2 months. Our savings got us through up until a few months ago. Credit cards have carried us through since then, now we are hitting rock bottom.

But still, I feel blessed.

I still have him!! He is my rock. Even when things look so tough we still have each other. My children are healthy. Active in sports. And even though they got these things before the accident, they own all the gadgets teenagers of today want between cell phones, games systems, etc...

I am blessed.

My favorite place to spend time lately is in the scraproom my husband built for me. It is actually the first room that was completed when we moved into this house 8 years ago. I look around this room at my tools and supplies I have. Even after selling hundreds of dollars worth of items to try to make some money, I still have enough to keep me scrapping for years.

I am blessed.

How could I possibly get depressed. I have good friends, a wonderful family, a job I enjoy, a sence of humor and love. What else could I need.

Have you ever read a book that was too good to finish?

Every night before falling asleep I look forward to reading just a page or two of my latest book. I don't want rush it. I want to savor every paragraph, every line, every word... I have been reading this series since the first one came out 18 years ago. the year I got married. Outlander by Diane Gabaldon. The love story of Claire and Jamie Fraser. There was a new book a year for the first 3, This was great. I was newly married, no children yet. these boosk were wonderful! Then the next books started getting more spread out over time. The 4th book Drums of Autumn didn't come out until my 2nd child was a year old. Book 5, "The Fiery Cross" when my oldest was in first grade. It took 4 years before Breath of Snow ans Ashes came out. Now this, Book # 7 is here. Echo in the Bone It was on sale in late September, if I remember correctly. I was probably one of the first to hold it in my hands. Who knows when the next will come out, if there even is a next book. 18 years to find out how the love story ends. I don't want it to end. Maybe it wont but in the meantime I am enjoying the story. This isn't even one of Ms Gabaldon's better told stories. It is cluttered with the lives of everyone else they know but there are glimpes of Jamie and Claire. Enough of them to keep the curiosity going. I had to buy this book twice just so I could keep it with me everywhere I go. I have the big heavy hardcopy and I bought the Kindle version so I can read it even in the 5 minutes I have to spare at my kids' events. I may only be halfway though and already feel sad that this book will end. I hope everyone finds a story that is just so good they never want it to end.

More Scraproom Cleaning

I can not believe how much stuff I have in this room. No wonder I can't fit any more. Last night I went through all my tool drawers. I did find some things I didn't know I had like a Stampamajig. It was still sealed in its original package. Yikes! I am going to have to start using this little tool. I also had three, yes THREE positioning rulers. These are different versions of the stampamajig. One had the D.O.T.S logo on it. Close to My Heart has not used that logo in about 10 years or so, I think. I decided to post more things on E-Bay. I hope to do better this time. The first time around (last week) I had no clue what I was doing and practically gave every thing away. I even had to pay more than I won in the auction to ship some things. So I have learned a few lessons. I will keep my fingers crossed that things sell better this time around. Of coarse I already got rid on my best items. This time I have tools like the stamp positioners, two (2) Scor-it boards, templates, mini scrapbook kits, etc.

I am going to continue to pick through my stuff. I still have tons of scrapbook kits to go through like Leaving Prints, Magic Scraps, Club Scrap, etc, and then there are all the stamp sets I have. I am sure there is more I can clean out and get down to the basic stuff I actually do want to scrap with.
If anyone wants to look at my auctions look for the seller SHARONTUP and my stuff should come up. This round of actions are ending on Saturday March 6th. Thanks for looking.

Cleaning out more Stuff

I am posting more things on Ebay today. I starting taking photos at 8 this morning and still have not finished posting everything. Hopefully you will find something you can use. I am listed at SharonTup on E-bay. Lots of Idea Books, Sizzix alphabets, Close To My Heart stamp sets and what every else I can find to take a phots of. My DH told me I should just post photos of my whole scraproom and let people make offers. I was very insulted! I am very attached to 90% of my toys, I mean Tools! :o)

Scrap Cleaning

This is school vacation week this week, so my DH decided it was time to clean the back (scary) side of the basement. You know that part that has very little light and you simply rush in, dump stuff you don't need and rush back out. Well, I can tell you , I never realized just how much scrapping supplies I had that I have not used in years. I was so proud that my workshop was actually cleaned up to the point I could work on projects. Now EVERYTHING from the darkside that belonged to me is dumped back in my scraproom. My mess will hopefully be other scrapper's gain. I decided to try selling some stuff on E-bay. I have not done this in years and forgot just how long it takes to take photos, estimate shipping, write up descriptions for everything, etc I think I spent at least 5 hours posting stuff. I still have lots more but am going to wait and see how these things do. So if anyone is interested, go to ebay, I am listed as SharonTup. Here is a photo of the Sizzlit alphabet dies I posted.

Along with that I am trying to sell lots of Idea books: Lisa Bearnson, Close to My Heart, Creating Keepsakes, Tracy White, etc. Take a look, maybe you will find a bargain.

Other than that I have not done much. The stomach bug passed through our house. Not pleasant at all. My daughter had a very mild version, she stayed home from school for 2 days but never got sick just felt aweful. I was unfortunate enough to get the violent version of it and even a week later, my ribs and the muscles around my middle are still sore. I would not wish this bug on anyone!!

Been doing a little shopping lately. I love the new clear-mounted stamps by Stampin Up! I am hoping they give the option of ALL their stamp sets being offered with wood OR clear mount.

What else, I have expanded on my collection of Copics. I went from 6 lonely little Ciao markers and now have another 26 colors in the sketch markers. At first, I didn't know what the big hype about these were. People were raving about how well they blend. Mine came out streaky and looked awful. Until someone told me not to color in lines but swirl the marker around in little circles. DUH!! They should print this right on the markers for us idiots. Now I am liking these markers so much better.

I am thinking I will post some new photos of my scraproom once I clear out my E-bay stuff. I have been cleaning out the little nitty gritty stuff. Like I organized all my ribbon scraps by color. I put them into ziplock bags and clipped on a big ring. Now when I go to crops I can clip the ring on my cup holder and have easy access to all my scraps. Another thing that was time consumer but well worth it: I had tons of buttons that I just threw in jars, well I sorted all these by color, as well. Now all the buttons, brads, beads, eyelets, buckles, clips, etc are color coded as well. Unfortunately these will not travel well, though. They are all in glass jars on my shelf.

Well I am going to end for now. It's been at least 20 minutes, time to go check my auctions. I will take some photos and add more later.

This weekends Crop.

This weekend I was back at the same hotel for a scrapping weekend hosted by a local scrapping store. My goal was to get my son's football album up to date. I had his album, all my embellishments, a new football stamp set I got just for this book along with all the football paper I could find. What I didn't have was the football photos!!! Duh! Luckily my darling husband was willing to make the drive out to the hotel and bring me not only the photos, but everything else I managed to forget to pack, like adhesive, my purse, my cutting mat, etc. I don't know what I was thinking when I packed my gear.

I only got about 7 pages done in his album then changed gears to work on a family calendar. I must have been tired of looking at photos of my son. After finishing the calendar and bringing it home, I was showing it to my daughter and realized I used all photos of her and only 2 photos with my son in them. Oops. I guess this calendar will go to work and I will have to make another one for home.

I can't believe the weekend is over already. Work tomorrow. A new secretary is starting tomorrow. Anxious to get the meet, great, and transistion part over and get back into a routine.

new layouts

These are some of the layouts I did last weekend with my sister.
I know there isn't much to this one. It's just photos stuck down. I did add a jounaling flap. It is under one of the photos but I loved the photos (other then the one with my fat face in it, LOL) and they showed what great seats we had.

This was a very girlie page of my grand daughter. My daughter is such a tomboy I don't get to do too many girlie pages.

And this layout is a kit I ordered from Shoestring Productions. Love their Kits!! This is my daughter's basketball game.
